Verify your email
Why Mnemox asks, how to enter the code, and how to fix a mistyped address.
What it is for
You can use Mnemox the moment you sign up with an email. Verifying proves the address is yours, which matters the day you forget your password: the reset link goes to that address, and only there.
How to use it
- Sign up with your email and a password. You go straight to your notes, and we email you a six-digit code.
- Choose Enter code in the "Verify your email" bar at the top of your notes, type the code and choose Verify. The bar disappears.
- Or open the email and choose Verify my email, on any device. That works too.
- No email? Check your spam or junk folder, then choose Send a new code. You can ask for one a minute.
- Typed your address wrong? Choose Change email, enter the right one and choose Change and send code. You keep your notes, and from then on you sign in with the new address.
Examples
A typo at sign-up
You signed up as name@gmial.com. The code never arrives, so choose Change email, enter name@gmail.com, and verify with the code sent there. Nothing is lost.
Verifying from your phone
Signed up on your laptop but read email on your phone? Choose Verify my email in the email. The bar on your laptop is gone the next time it loads your notes.
Good to know
- Everything works before you verify. The bar stays until you do.
- Resetting your password from the emailed link also verifies your address.
- Accounts made with Google or Apple are already verified and never see the bar.
- If you later sign in with Google or Apple using an email that was never verified here, the password on the account is removed and your other devices are signed out, in case someone else set it. Set a new one in Settings → Account.
- Change email is only offered while your address is unverified.
