Writing

Lists and checklists

Bullets, numbers and tasks, nested with Tab.

What it is for

Lists are how most notes actually get written. Checklists turn a note into something you can work through, and nesting keeps sub-points under the point they belong to.

How to use it

  1. Type - and a space for a bullet list, 1. and a space for a numbered list, or - [ ] and a space for a checklist.
  2. Or use the list buttons in the toolbar.
  3. Press Tab to indent an item under the one above, Shift+Tab to bring it back out.
  4. Click a checkbox to tick it off.
  5. Press Enter on an empty item to end the list.
