Import Markdown files
Bring notes in from another app, with their formatting intact.
What it is for
Bring notes in from another app. Each .md file becomes a note named after the file, with its headings, lists, checklists, tables and links intact, so moving to Mnemox does not mean retyping anything.
How to use it
- To import into a folder, right-click the folder in the sidebar and choose Import Markdown….
- Or open Settings → Account, find Your data and choose Import Markdown files. Those notes go in unfiled.
- Pick one or more .md files. Each becomes a note named after its file.
Example
Moving from Obsidian, Bear or Apple Notes
Export there as Markdown, then import the files here. Headings, lists, checklists and tables arrive as they were.
Good to know
- Images come in as links, since notes can't hold pictures yet.
- Files up to 512 KB each can be imported: .md, .markdown or .txt.
- Importing works offline too. The notes reach your other devices once this one reconnects.
