Export all your notes

Every note as a Markdown file, in one zip, in your folders.

What it is for

Your notes are yours. One button gives you a copy of all of them in a format any editor opens, so you are never locked in — and you have a backup that does not depend on Mnemox.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings → Account and find Your data.
  2. Choose Export all notes. A zip named mnemox-notes-<date>.zip downloads.
  3. Inside, a notes folder mirrors your sidebar: one .md file per note, in the same folders and sub-folders.

Examples

Moving to a wiki or another app

Unzip it and import the folder. Headings, lists, checklists and tables come across as standard Markdown.

A backup before a big tidy-up

Export first, then delete and reorganise freely, knowing the zip has everything as it was.

Good to know

  • Drawings are not included: they live inside the note in a form Markdown cannot hold. Export a drawing's note on its own to see where it sat.
  • Two notes with the same title in one folder become "Ideas.md" and "Ideas (2).md", so neither overwrites the other.
  • It exports what the server has. A note you edited offline and has not synced yet goes in as it was last synced.
