Getting started
Install Mnemox on your Mac
Mnemox in your Dock, in a window of its own. Same notes, same account.
What it is for
A browser tab gets lost among twenty others. The Mac app sits in your Dock and in ⌘-Tab, next to your editor or your call, so your notes are one keystroke away. It is the same Mnemox: every note, folder and setting you already have, kept in sync with the web and your phone.
How to use it
- Go to mnemox.so/download and press Download for Mac. Mnemox.dmg goes to your Downloads folder.
- Open Mnemox.dmg from your Downloads folder.
- Double-click Mnemox in the window that opens. It moves itself into your Applications folder, opens, and tidies away the installer.
- Sign in. With email, type it as usual. With Google or Apple, your web browser opens for that step; when it asks to open Mnemox, allow it, and you are back in the app, signed in.
Example
Notes beside the call
In a meeting, ⌘-Tab between the call and Mnemox instead of hunting for the right browser tab. ⌘N starts a fresh note.
Good to know
- The first time you open Mnemox, macOS asks if you're sure you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Click Open. You'll only see this once - Mnemox is signed and checked by Apple.
- Mnemox updates itself. A new version downloads in the background, and when it is ready Mnemox asks to restart. Choose Later and it installs the next time you quit. To check yourself: Mnemox → Check for Updates…, or Settings → About.
- Prefer dragging? Dragging Mnemox onto the Applications shortcut in the installer window works too.
- It needs macOS 13 Ventura or later, on an Apple silicon or Intel Mac. On an older Mac, mnemox.so in your browser does everything the app does.
