Which version you have, and updates

Settings → About shows your version. Mnemox tells you when there is a newer one.

What it is for

When something behaves differently from yesterday, the first question is which version you are on. Mnemox answers it in one place, and makes sure you are never quietly running an old one.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings → About to see your version.
  2. On the web, the version is the date Mnemox was last updated plus a short code. It updates the moment a new version ships.
  3. If Mnemox has been open while a new version shipped, a notice appears at the bottom: Mnemox has been updated. Press Reload to switch to it, or Later to finish what you are doing first.
  4. In the Mac app, About also shows the app's version, with Check for updates. A new version downloads in the background and Mnemox asks to restart; Later installs it the next time you quit.

Example

Writing to support

Something looks wrong. Open Settings → About and copy the version into your message: it tells us exactly which Mnemox you were using.

Good to know

  • Reload is never automatic, so an update can't interrupt you mid-sentence. Your writing is saved as you type, so reloading loses nothing.
